Bank Mandiri was established on October 2, 1998, as part of the bank restructuring program implemented by the Indonesian government. In July 1999, the four state-owned banks, namely Bank Bumi Daya, Bank Dagang Negara, Bank Exim and Bapindo merged into Bank Mandiri. Soon after the merger, Bank Mandiri implement consolidation process as a whole.
